The Warmth of Winter
As a frozen chill slices through my body
I feel the sun upon my skin.
Repelling the warmth while digesting the cold,
I begin to shiver once again.
Teeth ch ch chattering from deep within my soul,
Cl cl clattering like a spoon on an empty bowl,
Cr cr crawling through this empty hole
Left inside my heart.
Too numb to feel, too dumb to think.
Too cold to move, too bold to sink.
Too weak to hope, too bleak to pray.
Too in love to die this way.
Cold hands move in front of frozen knees,
A warm sun shines through an icy breeze,
A cool wind blows through snow covered trees,
And I crawl on, too in love to freeze.
I’m too in love to freeze…

Help-
i fell down again
the floor feels
so familiar-
Help Me.
Pain-
i am Hurt again
god this feels
so familiar-
more Pain
Lost-
Where Am I again?
why’s this feel
so familiar?
i’m Lost.
Hurt-
and Alone again
it all feels
so Unbearable…
Why Me?

My Orchid
She grows from the depth of the earth,
Each leaf beautifully stemming from
different parts of her base, each numb
and unfeeling, yet enrapturing.
She reaches from the earth toward the sun;
Allowing it to cast down its warmth and light
To reflect beauty and passion from her bright
blue petals. Her beauty radiates like fire.
But one day the sun falls straight from the sky,
No longer capable of feeding her soul.
Her weary arm shakes as it strikes its final toll
on the Bell of Beauty; it echoes through my mind.
I watch her wilt with a crooked smile.

Sunlight
Thoughts and things running through
My head; some old, some new,
Some silly, some not, but one
is an image of you.
The image dances, yet haunts me:
Roots planted deep in the soil, a tree
Growing, growing, growing. The seed
Bursts from the soil; forever it’s free.
“Freedom, freedom, freedom at last!
Oppression and pain are things of the past,
For now I’ve grown beyond the grasp
Of my roots.” I glance down at lengthy shadows cast
Over the grass, “My grass is greener than the grass
On the other side; my grass is greener than grass
On any side. My grass grows free, next to a tree,
In the sunlight of you.”

The Lullaby
Goodnight baby, I think it’s time to sleep.
Let me fall in your arms, my dear,
For it’s time to count the sheep.
Goodnight baby, count one-two-three-four-five.
Hold me close to your heart, my love,
I’m so happy you’re alive.
Goodnight baby, I hope you’ll sleep just fine.
I want to let you know, my love,
I can’t wait till you are mine.
Goodnight baby, I know I’m wasting time.
Because a love this strong, my dear,
Cannot be expressed through rhyme.
Goodnight baby, I swear I’ll dream of you,
And when I find out who you are,
I’ll prove this love is true.
Whoever you are, wherever you are, goodnight.

Fog
The fog blows in, moving with the wind,
The scenery is hard to see;
Mountains and rivers all hidden by fog-
The fog’s inside of me.
